It is said that we can influence the people around us. Even the most reserved person can influence a whooping 10,000 people during their lifetime.

Each of us may lead in one area or are led in others. No one is excluded from being a leader or a follower. Realizing your potential as a leader is an important step and your responsibility.

A great leader once show how he was influencing others by how his followers responded to him.

“But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” Matthew 8:8–9

The leader of any team or group is easy to find. Just look at a group of people when they get together. Here are a couple of questions that can help you identify the team leader.

1. If the group need to decide something, who is the person whose opinion is seek or consider as valuable?
2. Who is the one others are watching during a meeting to see his opinion?
3. Who is the one that people agreed with?
4. Who is the one that people follow or emulate?

The answer to these questions will help you find the leader of a group. Are you the leader or are you following someone else. If you are the leader then influence and help those around you. If you are a follower then learn from your leader and start developing your skill so you can be a great leader too.

You can be a great leader too. Every great leader in history developed himself to be the best of their ability. You can do it too.
